This year's event ran from September 29th to October 5, 2007. It was organized by Gordon Muir. Here is a brief review of the events.
Picking up, Registration and drop-off went smoothly without a hitch. We added a West Coast Tour this year. Out of town people participated and enjoyed this little addition to the camp. We plan to do it again next year. Food was excellent. Cabins were good. No complaints about snorers this year. We prepared ear plugs for those who didn't have any. Coffee, tea, water, fruits and snacks all day. The practice hall area was still spacious enough for all events. The weather was not nice. It was raining all the time. So the hall helped a great deal. People came from: Victoria, Vancouver, Maple Ridge, Edmonton, Nanaimo, Drayton Valley (AB), Regina, Ottawa, Atlanta, Salt Spring Island, Wisconsin, Iowa, Calgary, L.A. etc. Ronnie Yee gave two magic shows in the evenings. Main instruction was given by master Chen Zhonghua. He was assisted by Ronnie Yee, Gordon Muir and Allan Belsheim. All disciples helped out. Special thanks to Charles Paoletti from L. A. for video taping the seminars, and for Tim Duehring and Gary Kong for their assistance in teaching. Gord Muir made camp -T-Shirts. Tim Duehring made speiclal windbreaker jackets and vests for the camp. There were close to 50 people in attendance. Master Chen Zhonghua's seminars were focused on the following areas: How to be internal How to apply leverages How to use one points and avoid multiple points on the body. Yilu Reviews and detailed instructions. Yilu individual corrections. Demonstration of Hunyuan 24-form. The use of rubber cords in training. The use of short staff in help align the body structure. This is called the Chen Zhonghua Torture Chamber.
Gord Muir led morning Qigong, silk reeling and stretching exercises. Ronnie Yee assisted Master Chen at the seminars. Allan Belsheim helped the whole time. Tim Duehring held mini broadsword sessions.
The workshop formats were casual. There was a daily schedule that was followed. |
